The anniversary 10th international conference of FOSS developers and users, the Linux Vacation / Eastern Europe 2014, will be held on August 22-24, near Grodno (Belarus).
The event combines communication and rest of enthusiasts of free / open source software, including GNU/Linux platform, but not limited to it.
LVEE is organized by the members of Minsk Linux Users Group and other active participants of the open source community. Conference is held on the touring camp in the middle of a forest resort, so centralized delivery of participants is carried out from Minsk. Beside that, participants going by cars traditionally use LVEE website wiki to invite fellow passengers.
Conference format is based on oral presentations, lightning talks, while round table discussions, workshops and code-sprints are also welcome. Presentations subjects include development and maintenance of free / libre software, adoption and administrating of FOSS-based solutions, peculiarities of free licenses usage. The conference covers a wide range of platforms — from workstations and servers to embedded systems and mobile devices.
Despite not very formal style of the meeting, organisers provide a conference hall and supply all necessary presentation equipment. To the conference, a book of abstracts will be published. Videos of the talks will appear on the conference website along with the presentation slides and abstracts.
Conference speakers and journalists are free of the participation fee.
To participate, it’s necessary to register on the conference website, lvee.org, by July 31. To be included into the conference program, abstracts of presentations should pass the stage of collective reviewing, so speakers are required to submit their texts using the online abstracts submission system before this date. It also should be useful to have a look at abstracts guidelines and previous conferences materials.
Organisation board invites all interested companies to become our sponsors. To date, SaM Solutions, ColoBridge, Wargaming.net, DigitalOcean, EPAM Systems, myCloud.by, hoster.by companies have already announced their support of LVEE 2014.
